  • Cakes are most often composed of four layers of sponge and three layers of filling. Regardless of filling, each cake is finished in a thin layer of vanilla buttercream.

    I prefer to cover cakes in fondant as it guarantees a clean decorating palette, keeps your sugar flowers grease-free and ready to preserve as keepsakes, and helps seal in moisture. I use a fondant sheeter, producing a perfect, extra-thin, even layer of fondant every time.

  • Cakes start at $15/serving, but price will vary depending on design. There is a $350 minimum on all orders.

  • The further in advance you order your cake the better, though three months ahead can usually be accommodated. Should you be ordering during the peak summer wedding months, please consider securing the date as soon as possible.

  • We delivery! The delivery minimum is $75 for venues within the greater Portland metro area. Beyond that, there is an extra milage surcharge. We encourage you to pick up your own cake if you are able to do so. We’ll provide you with clear instructions on how to beautifully present it at your venue.

  • Bake Lab does not have a menu because, in the end, the sky is the limit (within reason…) We will work together to create the cake you want. Trust me - it will be moist and delicious!
